Nobel Laureate Prof Muhammad Yunus and three other top Grameen Telecom officials were convicted to six months imprisonment today in a labor law violation case.
The verdict was issued by Sheikh Merina Sultana, chairman of Dhaka`s Third Labour Court.
Prof Yunus is the chairman of Grameen Telecom, while the others sentenced -- Ashraful Hassan, Nurjahan Begum and Mohammad Shahjahan -- are top officials.
They were presented at the courtroom at 1:42pm.
On December 24, the court set this date for delivery of the verdict.
